I made an apple cobbler, but you’re probably not surprised as apples are my go-to fruit, right. This recipe is quite simple and the apple can be sliced thinly, mixed only with castor sugar and cinnamon then it goes straight into the pie dish. I added a knob or two unsalted butter before topping the apples with cobbler dough. The dough is also pretty straight forward and if you have a firm scone recipe, you can even use that instead of the cobbler dough. Roll the scone dough into smallish balls and arrange it over the apples.
Cobblers are delicious – sweet or savoury. It’s a nice alternative to the good old crumble. Give it a go some time, I’m sure it’ll go down famously.
