While I was cooking in Bayside Mall before Christmas, I prepared a gorgeously rich and yummy pasta dish using Woolworths beef ravioli. Ravioli is a filled pasta – in this case cooked ground beef. Ravioli is simple to make yourself, but if you aren’t practiced in it, it could turn out a bit disastrous as all the filling can cook out of the little pasta pockets. Especially if there’s air in the pockets.
That’s why I just love the convenience of making use of what Woolworths have on offer. The convenience can’t be outweighed by anything else. Besides, it’s what you can achieve with the ravioli that’s important! I made a tasty portobellini mushroom and thyme sauce to accompany the the cooked ravioli. A little Grana Padano rounds the dish off perfectly. Grana Padano is a hard Italian cheese with a grainy texture from the Pianura Padana valley. It’s one of the world’s oldest hard cheeses and has a beautiful, intense flavour.
