Clafoutis is a very easy baked dessertthat can be prepared in a few minutes. It’s a French dessert, originating in the Limousin region which is in the southwest of France. Black cherries are the popular choice of fruit to use in the preparation of this dessert and often the stones of the cherries will be left in the cherries as it is believed to add a more intense flavour.
Clafoutis is a lovely, light baked dessert that can be served in winter or summer. It works really well with tinned fruit, but obviously fresh fruit would be better to use. I like to serve it homemade vanilla ice cream. It’s a favourite in my home!
