This idea was shared by the lovely Beverley Du Toit and I simply had to try it. It’s a clever idea to fill up space on a snack table or to serve to guests while braai-ing.
Preheat the oven to 190C and prepare a baking sheet with non-stick spray. Roll strips of streaky bacon into a ball and secure it onto bamboo skewers. I added some prunes in the middle of some of them, just to add flavour. Arrange all the skewers on the baking sheet and bake for about 20 minutes until done and just starting to crisp up.
These skewers can be served warm or at room temperature.
