To prepare bircher muesli for 6 people, you will need 2 cups rolled oats, 1 cup apple juice, 1 cup plain yoghurt and 2 apples, peeled, cored and grated.
Combine the oats, juice and yoghurt in a medium bowl. Cover and refrigerate over night. Before serving, add the grated apple and mix through.
To jazz the muesli up a bit, add dried blueberries, cranberries or currents. If you like it sweeter, add a little honey and for extra flavour, ground cinnamon or shredded, toasted coconut can be added.
Serve the muesli with extra sliced apple and yoghurt, so that guests can help themselves if they prefer some extra.
