This delicious and very refreshing summer punch can be prepared in minutes and you’ll have a lovely drink to cool off at the end of a long day. Sangria is a beverage from Spain and Portugal. It contains wine (red, usually), chopped fruit, a sweetened carbonated drink and rum or brandy. This is a very forgiving beverage, so no mistakes can be made during its preparation!
To make enough for about 8 people, combine 750 ml red wine, 750 ml sparkling citrus beverage (like lemonade), 125 ml rum (or brandy), and a generous squeeze of honey. Chop your favourite fruit into bite size pieces (any fruit or combination of fruit can be used – I used pear, orange and fresh berries) and add it to the jug together with a decent sized cinnamon stick. Add two large handfuls of ice and the sangria is ready to enjoy!
