How to make spicy hot chocolate
Chilly winter days are perfect for hot chocolate. And I’m not talking “add three heaped spoons hot chocolate powderto 250 ml boiled milk” kind of hot chocolate. No, I mean the real thing: whole milk, cream and dark chocolate. I also like to add spices and chilli on really cold days – it warms you all the way to the tippy of your toes!
All you need to make hot chocolate for 2 people is150ml cream, 300 ml full cream milk, 100 g dark chocolate, 1 chilli and 1 cinnamon stick.
Slice the chilli in half and scrape out the seeds, then add the chilli and all the ingredients into a medium saucepan and bring to a gentle boil. Allow to boil for about one minute then strain and whisk the hot chocolate with a wire whisk.
Pour into tall mugs and enjoy!
