Preparing yoghurt at home is really simple and it’s quite cost effective to make it yourself.
Bring 500 ml milk to just below boiling point, then remove it from the heat and allow to cool until you can stick your pinky in and comfortably keep it there. Add 15 ml plain yoghurt to the cooled milk and stir gently. Pour the milk into an empty yoghurt container and wrap it with a wooly towel. Place it in an insulated container, like a cooler bag, and allow the yoghurt to incubate for 8 hours. After eight hours the yoghurt will be ready and it can be placed in the fridge. Keep 15 ml from this batch to make your next batch of yoghurt.
