Jar cakes are very popular these days – especially to serve and enjoy on picnic excursions. Serving a cake in a jar makes eating easy as there’s little to no mess. You also don’t struggle with slicing cake and once you’ve had enough, the cap can simply be screwed back on – no worrying about dirt or bugs spoiling your cake.
Anything can be put together here to make tasty treats in jars. I used vanilla cupcakes with vanilla butter cream. To add some extra flavour I used delicious passion fruit and apricot jam with fresh gooseberries. Toasted nuts or chocolate shavings will also be a great addition.
Chocolate cake with fresh raspberries and chocolate ganache will be a good one to try or what about orange cake with strawberries, lemon curd and Chantilly cream!
