The foodie community, both English and Afrikaans, are buzzing about the second season of cooking program / competition, Kokkedoor, commencing Thursday, 10 April 2014 on DSTV’s channel 144.
Kokkedoor is cooking program about traditional, “homely” food. Food with history and recipes together with cooking methods passed down from previous generations. Teams consist of two participants – a qualified chef and a home cook. The home cook brings to light the traditional feel of food while a modern twist is added by the qualified chef.
Even though the production is Afrikaans in nature, it has a rather large English following and it’s said that the second season will not disappoint on entertainment and excellent food preparation viewing. Marietta Kruger is the presenter and celebrity chefs from across South Africa will weekly assist the judges, Chef Nic van Wyk and Hetta van Deventer on judging performance and dishes.
The show kicks off on 10 April 2014 with introductory hour and a half episode, but will return to an hour long episode every Thursday at 8pm.
Be sure to tune in to KYKNET (Channel 144) on DSTV no to miss out on Kokkedoor Season 2. Download the Kokkedoor App from Google Playstore and become interactive with other Kokkedoor fans and even the contestants.
