Anything that contains some form of citrus is always a winner to serve at tea time. These light and tasty little loaves are no different. The combination of lime and poppy seeds give these little loaves an exotic, yet very homely character.
The batter is a simple batter that’s actually quite versatile – I’ve often used it for cupcakes and other treats. Any additions to the recipe can be made and it always comes out perfect. If you don’t have limes for this recipe, simply use lemon or orange – a combination of citrus will also be delicious.
Instead of mini loaves, bake the batter in a regular loaf tin and serve it sliced, or bake muffins. Whichever tin you have available, make use of it!
