These slices are perfect for the cookie jar and to add to lunch boxes. The kids will love them and so will your friends when served with a cup of tea. They are also really easy to prepare and flavours of your choice can be added as you go.
I used muesli that I mixed myself, containing cranberries, coconut and pumpkin seeds. You can use any store bought muesli as it is or add ingredients like dried blueberries or whole almonds for extra flavour.
Keep the muesli slices in an airtight container for about 2 weeks. Instead of baking the mixture in a pan and slicing bars, the mixture can also be scooped into balls and baked as round cookies. It works just as well. Whether baked as slices or cookies, they are great to use as a “welcome to the neighbourhood” gift. Simply put a few in a cellophane bag and tie with a nice ribbon. Its homely, tastes great and looks really nice too.
