Phyllo apple crumble
I was working with phyllo pastry the other day and had a few sheets left over, so I decided to make a quick apple tart. As you know – apples are my turn to ingredient!
I peeled and chopped a few apples, sauted it in a little butter then added a squeeze of tangerine, a drizzle of white wine and a scoop or two brown sugar. I turned the heat down and simple allowed all the flavours to melt together and become a fabulous tart filling.
All that’s left to do then is to line a tart tin roughly with phyllo pastry, scoop the apple filling in and add a simple crumble topping of flour, butter, sugar, and rolled oats. Rub it all together and add a little cinnamon for extra flavour.
This tart was so simple and so easy to prepare – just be careful not to leave it out where someone can eat the entire thing before anyone else gets to it!
