Bircher muesli

A refreshing, healthy breakfast. Bircher muesli is traditionally prepared with apple juice and apples, but pear can also be used and cranberry juice instead of apple juice tastes lovely. Search for more Muesli Recipes

Instructions

  • 1. Combine the oats, juice and yoghurt in a medium bowl. Cover and refrigerate over night
  • 2. Before serving, add the grated apple and mix through
  • 3. To jazz the muesli up a bit, add dried blueberries, cranberries or currents. If you like it sweeter, add a little honey and for extra flavour, ground cinnamon or shredded, toasted coconut can be added
  • 4. Prepared bircher muesli can be stored in the fridge for up to one day, but not longer
