Chefs Peter Ayub and Angie Boyd proudly hosted the official launch of Sense of Taste Culinary Arts Cooking School on Wednesday, 11 June 2014. It’s been an exciting time for these two dedicated and creative culinary geniuses as they start with official classes with their first group of aspiring chefs in July 2014.
The launch was hosted at their kitchens in Maitland, Cape Town, and perfectly reflected both the fun and professional qualities that characterise Angie and Peter. The food was plentiful and really tantalised all the senses. On offer were a cheese platter, marinated olives, cold and smoked meat, freshly baked focaccia, sushi and a fragrant Thai soup. A favourite was the pork belly sandwiches and also the chicken curry with rotis. On the sweet side guests could feast on chocolate brownies, mini creme brulee tarts and lemon meringue tartlets. Everything was absolutely scrumptious.
Students enrolling at Sense of Taste Culinary Arts Cooking School will receive professional teaching by the founding chefs who have between the two of them more than 40 years experience in the industry. Peter, who also owns and runs Sense of Taste Catering, is a seasoned chef with extended knowledge of the industry, ingredients and on how to prepare top quality food that will please any audience. Angie, who owns Vanilla House Patisserie is well known for her exquisite wedding cake creations, has a passion for patisserie that is incredibly infectious. Her students will be pros in pastry in no time.
