“Slider” is a collective term for small sandwiches of any type with any kind of filling. It’s a term mostly used to describe mini hamburgers and a colleague said he likes that name because the mini burgers just slide down your throat!
I quite enjoy making sliders (the mini burger type), but I have a little trick with them – I use sausage meat for the patties which is really brilliant as it saves quite a bit of time in preparation and you can choose what flavour you’re in the mood for. I like using pork sausages with apple and sage, or lamb and rosemary sausage is also tasty.
The sliders are small, so make loads and jazz them up with extras like grilled vegetables, homemade sauces and a variety of cheese. You’ll fall in love with these once you start shopping around for different flavoured sausage and pairing other ingredients to match.
