It’s been scorching hot here in Cape Town and in most parts of South Africa over the last few days. It’s definitely not been temperatures to be sitting in the office, but rather sipping cool drinks next to the beach!
I turned to my trusty blender and combined frozen strawberries with basil and a squeeze of lemon to make the most delicious and cooling sorbet – absolutely perfect for these unbearable temperatures. The sweet flavour of strawberries are pleasantly enhanced by the distinct flavour of basil. The two are a perfect match for each other.
Sorbets are not meant to be kept for too long, so obviously I made it my goal to not let it go to waste. Everyone was in agreement that, especially in this heat, not a scoop should be left to melt away!
