When I think cheeseburger, I think melted cheese pulling in strings with every bite. Enough cheese that leaves you satisfied for at least a week afterwards. There should definitely be some salad on the burger – but the leading role is played by the patty here and it should not be over staged. That’s why I suggest two patties and I like to serve whole gherkins on the side. Not everyone like them, but people who do, might want more gherkin than just a slice or two. So why not have an entire one that can be enjoyed almost like an accompaniment to the burger.
To make sure we have no shortage on cheese, I’ve spread the bottom half of the roll with a thick smearing of cream cheese. Cheese satisfaction for at least a week!
