If you’re looking for an easy and quick dessert, look no further! I don’t think there is a simpler recipe to prepare than this one. I love baking fruit for dessert and to jazz it up by adding a spice flavoured sugar syrup or interesting home made ice cream.
I sometimes think that plums were made to be baked for dessert. They have a sweet syrupy taste, yet keep a slight sour edge once baked. Accompaniments like ice cream, mascarpone or crme frache pair famously with the plums. If creams are served with the plums, it can be flavoured with crushed biscuits, preserved fruit like ginger or fig, or spices like vanilla and cinnamon.
I used ginger biscuits that I crushed coarsely. I used quite a bit, but I like texture in my food. Just about any biscuit or cookie can be used to add flavour to the cream and overall dessert.
